BIG CATS 


The Cat Specialist Group

The Cat Specialist Group is a network of some 200 cat specialists world-wide. This network is responsible for the observation of the status and the conservation needs of the 36 wild cat species living on our planet and for the continued Red List assessment. The group serves as a center of information on wild cats and their conservation.

NAEE - North American Association of Environmental Education
The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) is a network of professionals, students, and volunteers working in the field of environmental education throughout North America and in over 55 countries around the world. Since 1971, the Association has promoted environmental education and supported the work of environmental educators. There are many environmental interest groups, and many organizations dedicated to improving education. NAAEE uniquely combines and integrates both of these perspectives, and takes a cooperative, nonconfrontational, scientifically-balanced approach to promoting education about environmental issues. Nature Campus Online - Israel
Nature Campus was established by Tel Aviv University in order to advance public understanding of science, nature and the environment, and to serve as a bridge between academic research and the general public. The project was initiated by the Department of Zoology in cooperation with the Department of Plant Sciences – both from the Faculty of Life Sciences, and the Department of Anatomy and Anthropology in the Faculty of Medicine.

Balkani Wildlife Society

E4C and the Balkani Wildlife Society are working together to build and equip a Large Carnivore Education Centre in the Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria.  This project is supported by DEFRA's Darwin Initiative through grant funding.  See the Projects Section for further details on the progress of the Centre.

Coventry and Warwickshire Co-Operative Development
Agency - CDA

CDA implements a wide range of projects within Coventry and Warwickshire and is one of the largest co-operative development agencies in the country. CDA has provided E4C with grant funding of £3,000 to complete work on the website and its on-line merchandising facilities.  

The Darwin Initiative
 
A small grants programme that aims to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of resources around the world. The Initiative is funded and administered by the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, (Defra).

Practical Ethics
Practical Ethics is an independent 'ethics' practice providing research and education to the public and private sectors. Founded by its Senior Ethics Advisor, Bill Lynn, the practice creates research products and educational services for individuals, communities, non-profits, corporations and government. CEE works in partnership, bringing people together to address issues of common interest. TREATIES AND CONVENTIONS

In decision VI/26 The Conference of the Parties took note of the conclusions of the Seychelles Workshop on the Strategic Plan and the report of the Open-ended Inter-Sessional Meeting on the Strategic Plan, National Reports and Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and adopted a Strategic Plan for the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Conservation Education USDA Forest Service The Conservation Education program (CE) helps people of all ages understand and appreciate our country's natural resources and how to conserve those resources for future generations.

The mission of the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (known as the WildCRU) is to achieve practical solutions to conservation problems. This is done through original scientific research of the highest calibre. WildCRU also train committed conservation scientists to conduct research, and to put scientific knowledge into practice.

WOLVES AND WILD DOGS

The aim of the GWA is the protection of the wolf in the wild and in captivity, its research and -most importantly- the education of the general public about this threatened predator.

The The UK Wolf Conservation Trust aims to enhance the conservation, scientific knowledge and public awareness of Wolves and their environment. It also seeks to stimulate greater interest in Wolves, their food, their habitat and their behavior.
