Ecology through Art
E4C and the Earl and Countess of Denbigh are developing a series of exciting events that will deliver ecological and conservation education through the arts.
Outdoor classroom and experiential learning programmes will be provided for local and regional community groups, schools and youth organisations.
Using Inspired by Nature as the broad theme, the programme will offer workshops, festivals and fun days that tap into our rich cultural and natural heritage throughout the UK and Europe.
A series of workshops aimed at youth and community groups is planned from March 2007 onwards. This will involve art-based workshops with Inspired by Nature as a platform. Participants will take part in story-telling and narrative, visual art, wildlife photography and filming. Time will be spent in a state-of-the-art recording studio developing music CDROMs, podcasts, and short films which will later be disseminated through the internet.
In 2008, a larger festival is planned based on European Cultural and Natural Heritage and will include storytellers, performers, artists and musicians from all over Europe who will captivate audiences with performances based on myths, legends and folklore - both ancient and modern. Humans make sense of their world through stories and myths. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
If you are a community group, school, or youth organisation and would like to take part in the Inspired by Nature programme of events, then please contact us on 01788 833232 or email denise@education4conservation.org.
